E-mail Dated Tuesday the 30th November 1999,
Dear Dr. Gabb, Thank you for replying to my message. I answer as follows : I totally accept the official party line as set out by William Hague. However in the event of a change in party policy, I would vote to oppose the joining of the Single Currency even if recommended by the Party leadership, except if it was endorsed by the electorate in an unrigged referendum, by a 2/3 majority of those who participated. I can see no justifiable reason to accept the supremacy of European law over British law and would rather withdraw from the European Union than allow it to happen. I trust these answers will be of assistance in the work you are doing and look forward to hearing further from you in due course. David S. Gold
