A Note on Mark Allat

E-mail Dated Friday the 5th November 1999,
Mark Allat to Sean Gabb

Sean

Thank you for agreeing to make the changes.

As I am e-mailing from work, please do not put up my e-mail address etc as this is against firm policy.

If you are able to put up a corrective statement could you please use:

'As the founder of Conservative Way Forward, secretary of CWF and a well known Thatcherite activist, I would like to confirm that I am a EuroSceptic and I was very concerned to see that I had been mistakenly listed as a Euro-Enthusiast.

In my election address at the last General Election I said, "I oppose Britain's membership of a European single currency as I believe that it would transfer too much economic and political power to Brussels. We should renegotiate our relationship with the European Union in order to retain our national sovereignty."

In CWF's magazine Forward I called or our withdrawal if suitable terms could not be achieved.

I hope that this sets the record straight.'

Thank you for your cooperation on this matter and I look forward to seeing these changes when I next log on.

Regards

Mark
