About the Hampden Press
|
The Hampden Press is an independent publisher founded in 2001 to specialise in radical and challenging works, both non-fiction and fiction, in paperback and hardcover, neglected by establishment and mainstream houses in Britain and America. Our main orientation is towards both economic and political liberalism, or in modern terms libertarianism. However, we conceive this tradition in a very wide sense, and will also publish works from other traditions which we feel have something to contribute to rational, humane and progressive concerns. We also publish compact disks of speech and rare music, and plan a major expansion of this division of our business in 2006.
As well as accepting orders and payments through the post, we are now able
to offer PayPal as a payment option, in addition to MasterCard, Visa, and
major debit cards.
All our books are available as free pdf files for downloading from this site. We have found this to increase sales of the printed version. If you read the free pdf copy, do not wish to buy a printed copy, but would like to make a donation to the Hampden Press, please click on the button below. Your donation will contribute to the publication of futher books and CDs.
The Hampden Press is named after John Hampden (1594-1643), the great 17th
century English parliamentarian, patriot, freedom-fighter and civil war
commander. We are a partnership of
